Invariably Sick of ProtocolI've been reading a lot lately, mostly because it's the quietest, most benign refuge from graduation/related matters that insidiously creep home. In about two days, I've gone through two books, and made a bit of progress into two others.
Other than that, I've been doing a bit of research in to poetic meter, and poetry in different languages. I've begun memorizing a bit of Dante's Inferno (the first tercets), and lines from part I of The Waste Land. It's calming. I even woke up writing poetry one night, though it reflected my dreams (my dreams never make sense/are coherent).
Philosophy: it's absurd. I keep circling back on my own personal philosophy, the personal O.S., the raison d'etre, or M.O. as it were. The relevance of anything to anything seems tenuous anymore. In this void, anything goes. So why doesn't it feel right? Nothing does. Life seems to have inherent barbs in every action, so you always end up regretting something or another. There's so much to do, and too much and too little time to do anything, let alone find the inspiration to do it well. Time ticks away, and you're not supposed to feel like you're burning up, burning away, but I do.
So, one moves on to some lackluster and futile study, with the vague and halfhearted intention of finding a way out.
